Episode 24: All I Want is the Power

In Episode 24 of the Success Bully podcast, we get into it for #AugustAction. My phenomenal guest Rian Buckley CEO and co-founder of Fitcode, a fashion data company that enhances the denim shopping experience by focusing on fit, not size, does not mince her words when it comes to what she wants.  While scaling her fashion tech startup and weighing investment options, Rian stated with such steady determination, “I wanted the power.”  And by power she meant… the power to choose.  We talk about what inspired her to create a solution for a clear problem in the e-commerce space and her goal to remain a cash positive company.

Episode 23: Build, Lead, Mentor… Repeat

On this week’s episode of the Success Bully Podcast, we revisit bonus content from a series featuring two amazing Boss Ladies.  Amy Nelson, Co-founder & CEO of The Riveter and Tina Nole Founder and Executive Producer of Larj Media.

As an entrepreneur, I’m often so focused on that journey that I forget to harken back to my corporate days.  In honor of my corporate trailblazers, we’re revisiting thoughts on active leadership mentorship and taking what you learned or what you want to unlearn when building out your own business. Wherever you are with your journey, don’t forget to “Build, Lead, Mentor… Repeat.”

We are excited to continue to move with momentum for #AugustAction! In this episode, we’re tapping into another type of fear.  We often have well thought-out solutions if we fail. What about the other side of the coin?  What happens if you succeed?

I’m thrilled to have Makenzie Davies and Kelsey Dixon, the founders of Davies + Dixon (a bi-coastal digital marketing and brand communication agency) as guests. Kelsey and Makenzie candidly share their shift from the fear to jump to the new found fear of success, defining their co-founder relationship and developing new confidence along the way.

We’re rounding out our #JulyJumpstart series with the phenomenal Sarah Blankinship CEO & Founder of RightSciences. Special thanks to Larj Media for turning my hopes into action.

Episode 19: A Strong No A$$hole Rule

We’re more than halfway through the #JulyJumpstart series.  I happen to listen to my own podcasts and I will say I keep coming back to this series for a shot in the arm.  In Episode 19 of the Success Bully Podcast, Sarah Blankinship, CEO of Right Science and Co-Founder of CEO Wattage shares a personal mantra that is near and dear to her heart.  She has “A Strong “No A$$hole Rule” when it comes to building an influential network or courting investors.

It has worked out brilliantly as she has successfully navigated pivots, bootstrapping, international expansion and disruptive seed round in a highly regulated industry.

Special thanks to Larj Media for always abiding by the rule.

Episode 16: Self-Hostage Negotiate

In this week’s Success Bully podcast, I give you some tips to pull you back from the edge of illogical despair. I’m going to share snippets of actual conversations with real people that I had in the past week. Their names and storylines have been changed to protect their identities (I have always wanted to say that). I’m fairly certain we have all been there… Spinning out of control based on a completely hypothetical scenario that has less than a 1% chance of it actually happening as you have described it. Grab your bullhorn and step in as your own best hostage negotiator with these simple steps to get back on track.

Special thanks to Larj Media (larjmedia.com) for giving me a fancy bullhorn.

Episode 15: Destination Discomfort

In Episode 15 of the Success Bully podcast, I would like to nudge you gently out of your warm cave of comfort. Literally, all of the magic, excitement, change, development, and growth lies in your discomfort. I know that sounds a bit squishy and possibly metaphysical, but it’s true. Whether you’re a founder scaling a kickass business, a junior staffer navigating the next phase of your career, an artist sharing your latest work, you are going to have to put yourself out there.  I give you some simple techniques to get you started.

Special thanks to Larj (www.larjmedia.com) Media for pushing me waaaayyyy out of my comfort zone.

Episode 11: Fake It Till You Make It

On this week’s episode of the Success Bully Podcast, we deviate from the most electrifying 5 minutes of podcasting to bring you a series called “Fearless Factor” featuring two amazing Boss Ladies.  Amy Nelson, Co-founder & CEO of The Riveter(the newest women’s co-working space in Seattle soon to be 20 other locations nationwide) and Tina Nole Founder and Executive Producer of Larj Media (the premier podcast production house that develops content for celebrities, thought leaders and brands alike) discuss sloughing the imposter syndrome and the sage advice to “Fake It Till You Make It.”

Episode 10: Be on your Guard...

On Episode 10 of the Success Bully Podcast, I’m putting you on high alert. I’m asking you to “Be on Your Guard.” I want you to put your goal/vision in a fortified castle with a moat and drawbridge.  Around this castle, you have an extensive armed guard the keeps watch day and night. As you’re working on the next big disruptive piece of technology, finally writing your screenplay, making a radical career change, launching a global business destined to touch the lives of millions, there will be naysayers who will not understand your vision. It's up to you to protect your vision!

Episode 09: If you don’t A-S-K, you don’t G-E-T

In haunting like fashion, I can hear one of my wise mentors say, “If you don’t A-S-K, you don’t G-E-T.”  In this week’s Success Bully podcast, I discuss the “Ask.” If you could ask for something that would put a jetpack on your back and propel you to your goal, what would that be? In my practice, I have seen a common theme of “Not knowing what to ask for” or “Asking too small.” I am challenging you to think about your golden egg as well as what you bring to the table.

Episode 8: Oh Hell to the No

In Episode 8 of the Success Bully Podcast, I yell “Oh Hell to the No” from the rooftop in my finest attire. When was the last time you simply said no? Just plain old no. Not no without a long explanation and a powerpoint that included an addendum. Exercising your right to say no to demands on your time, your energy, and your emotional bandwidth is an important tool for supercharging your goals.

Episode 6: You're Just Too Damn Smart

In this week’s Success Bully podcast, I congratulate you on your pure brilliance. You are an intelligent world-changer! You have the ability to process, plan and navigate like a super computer. It’s truly magical. Remember… Intellect is a double-edged sword. The biggest strength has a tendency to be the biggest crutch for inaction. I encourage you to spend less time thinking and...more time doing.
